Let’s be quiet

During my years working for the BBC, we received training about interviewing techniques and one advice that stuck with me was: “Ask a question, then, for heaven’s sake, shut up!”.

We all have opinions and many times we feel and obey the impulse ‘to contribute’ our own voice, even when what really matters is recording what the other is saying.

Somehow we tend to interrupt and interject. We love our own voice so much!

Dance in Conversation is offering a workshop about, basically, the art of being quiet…

We call it “Silent leadership” and it is the second workshop in the series Redefining Leadership

The tango maestro Marcelo Gutierrez, back in February, approached Dance in Conversation to run these series in collaboration.

Ieva and I thought it was a great idea and put our hearts and minds into it.

Working with Marcelo has been a good experience and we together are aiming to be a bit more quiet and a lot more present.

The workshop is designed to explore with everybody practical ways to achieve that.
