Redefining Leadership

Tapping into your own inner resources to evolve your community

Trust in yourself and seeing the other will help you to discover your unique way of being and leading. It’s a journey we are exploring on the series of workshops “Redefining Leadership”.

We have put together techniques that we know will help you find your inner resources and bring change to yourself and others.

The workshop involves short presentations, conversations and exercises for 1.5 hours. All intended to tap into ways to build trust within ourselves.

What does it mean embodying leadership in tango?

Ieva Kelpsaite

Relationship coach and tango dancer

In my journey learning tango, I got to see how my experience in a milonga or a class has been shaped by what I bring to the table.

In my tango journey, I have learnt to be kinder to myself and kinder to others, let go of expectations and become more present within myself and in relation to the person I dance with. I have noticed how much this ability influenced how others in my environment react to me, whether I know people or I’m meeting them for the first time.

I also noticed how using these structures and qualities had got a similar effect in my own everyday life.

I would love to share my resources with as many tango dancers/teachers so that many of you can influence your inner experience and the environment in a positive way.

Marcelo Gutierrez

Tango maestro and life coach

I belong to the generation who studied with several old masters and became part of the revolution that would later become known as Tango Nuevo. Thanks to that knowledge, I became a distinguished tango teacher, performer, and competitor, with my mission to became a better artist every day.

For over two decades, I’ve been honing my well-known teaching method and am regularly sought after to teach at workshops and festivals all over the world. I incorporate principles from physics, neuroscience, and psychology to challenge himself and the limits of tango.

I am passionate to offer to my students the fruits of these experiences and cultivate the passion to keep tango evolving. Together with my second passion, Life Coaching, I am searching for the best ways for old ideas to new functional concepts.

Story editor

As a creative writer and designer, I tell stories on the web, on paper, and sometimes I scribble random lines on the dance floor.

I co-founded Dance in Conversation out of my conviction that I, and everybody, has a story that is worth telling and each one of us has a unique voice that needs to be heard and expressed in a community.

For years I practised journalism, producing and writing daily news for the BBC. I hope those acquired editing skills and my own story bring value to these workshops.
